Especially lately? I liked several episodes, mainly the filler stuff, like Goten getting "magic" water for Gohan and Videl's wedding and stuff like that, but mostly, I've been very unsatisfied with the show. ESPECIALLY with episode 22 that aired last week. Just terrible. |

I stopped liking it several episodes ago. I bet it's currently worse, and I don't need to watch more, I've got better things to watch. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

I just found the utter lack of respect for established characters like Gohan and Piccoro, and even Muten Roshi (who suddenly can take on Freeza's men?!) just so off-putting, so insulting, I couldn't bare to watch. |

Yes. They do. If you were an active user you'd notice people have been hating it since episode 3 (some people even before that). It gets a lot of hate here. |

Lol, your preaching to the choir here my friend. Super has gotten a huge amount of dislike right now and its ratings certainly haven't been rising. Right now, Super is incredibly split as its best and even the people who actually like Super, pretty much admit its not nearly as good as the original series and that it has a lot of problems. Personally, I think its a huge, wet dribble of rat pee. I think its a huge smack to the face to the both the original manga and heck, even the original anime with all its unnecessary filler. It's turned characters into stereotypes and/or just plain ruined them in their entirety. There's only the most basic level of effort in animation at its best, and from what I've heard, Toei Animation is purposely using fewer animation frames than usual. There's clearly a minimal amount of effort put into the series, using old Kai footage which contrasts horribly with the newer animation. The asinine usage of Kaio-Sama's old voice actor for several episodes despite the fact that it was clear he wasn't up to par at this point. A huge disregard to anything remotely consistent about the series. And you know what? People are tired of it. I've seen people who used to be all hyped up about Super now basically saying "Come on Toei, let's kick it up a notch here." I've seen Super's ratings make constant drops. I've seen the series being hated and ridiculed massively and I don't blame them. At this point, I'm under the assumption that this is just Toei's blatant excuse to do whatever they want. I've even heard things that the manga, which is getting all into Champa and U6, has started to slowly lose its steam. I mean, it can't be denied. I'm sorry for anyone who likes Super, but its clear that it is not up to the hype given to it. |

i have to ask, is there a reason why it can't be drawn and animated like Z? or is it just bs.. because i swear even on bad days (except for very few moments where the animation was s***tier than anything ever) Z just looked much better. Literally just the way things look visually, if done with the old bloody style would get their ratings up a ton. the content is -fine- but if it looked differently it would really bring out its "powers". kinda like Gohan, their body/animation can't handle and bring out it's full power(fights, they look stiff.. it lacks fluidity ). |

Because Toei Animation is lazy as hell. It doesn't even have to be animated in the old style, it just needs to be...well animated. People can talk all they want about how "hard the animation process is" or "How little the employees are paid" but you know what? That didn't stop Madhouse, SHAFT or Ufotable from creating some of the most stunningly beautiful works people have ever seen in anime. This didn't stop Cowboy Bebop from having some of the most fluid animation for a series back in 1998. This didn't stop the Monotgari series from having a very unique style that stands out among the rest. Apparently these guys will gladly pay their employees what needs to be done. They clearly show a huge amount of effort in their animation process. Toei Animation though, despite being one of the biggest animation studios in Japan (and maybe one of the oldest as well) is so damn half assed it refuses to do it. I've heard things that they don't even use regular number of frames of animation that most people use. Episode 5 is just the perfect example of how little they care and just how low they'll go to make a quick Yen. It's clear to anyone that Toei Animation doesn't care about quality, they only care about quantity. Get as much out as you possibly can with as little effort as you can possibly do and then get as much of a profit as you can from it. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of Toei Animation showing such little care for their series, especially when we know they can animate stuff very well. If they can't bother to show the respect to the animation process that other studios do, then perhaps they shouldn't be an animation studio. |

Here's a question. Does anyone like Super as a whole? I mean are there Super apologists out there that can actually defend the show? Granted it's only been 1 season, but still... |

Lord Vader is the closest, but iirc even he thinks it's a mixed bag. The poll given was also heavily in favour of a thumbs down with 3 positive votes out of 20. Maybe 4 if you count Clearin, but he didn't consider it to be a worthy sequel either. |

I like the show to an extent. I think it's absolutely riddled with problems, but I've got enjoyment out of it. I do basically try to ignore it having any connection to the manga like when I watch the movies though. For me characters are pretty much the main reason I watch any show, and Super obviously has characters that I already loved. Character interactions and moments seem pretty good here, with possibly more focus here than we've ever had in DBZ. There's almost always a mix of things I like and dislike in every episode, but as a whole I don't think the series is anywhere close to DB and DBZ, and even those have a lot of problems. That said, the Freeza arc so far has been a disappointment to me. And that's coming from someone who actually did enjoy the movie. Edited by Clearin, Dec 8 2015, 03:06 PM.

The BOG arc was solid if not a bit dry but I've thoroughly enjoyed the rof arc. |

The DBZ subreddit also has a lot of fans. I wouldn't call them apologists though since I've never seen them actually defend the show, just enjoy it. |

I don't dislike the show, but I can see how many problems it has and that it needs a loooot of work o become anything close to DB/Z. I enjoy it as a series but nothing special, the ROF arc is very good though IMO. |
